For the most below-mentioned categories, the needed utensils, which can be found in your father’s tool box or elsewhere in the house. However, those utensils are not really cool for many children. But it is all different with the snowboard. Snowboard games are always a hit with children. Those games were a real hit in the 80s.
It is especially the older kids who enjoy the cruising through the snow. One of the reasons might be, that the snowboard not only has a slim and elegant shape, but the way you stir it and its handling also comes close to skateboarding. With other words you could say, the snowboard is the skateboard for the winter months. Snowboarding is equally popular with boys and girls. Both think this is really cool and trendy.
Following, children, young people and youth workers will find a selection of games with the snowboard. It goes without saying, those games need winter weather and also the appropriate equipment.
There are much more things you can do with the snowboard, than cruising through the snow. For example, you could build a small ramp and implement a long jump competition. However, there are much more snowboarding games possible. Keep in mind; there are other ways than standing up to move along on a snowboard. For example, one kid can lay down on the board, while the others have to carry the “stretcher” for a certain distance. There are plenty of ideas, and with a little imagination and creativity, you will find your games.
Above all safety is important.
Whenever the snowboards come out, it is important that the youth workers keep an eye on the kids. Similar with skating in the summer, snowboarding in the winter comes with its own dangers which easily could lead to injuries.
Most important, as a youth worker, make sure that all kids wear protective clothing. This consists of a helmet and elbow- and knee pads. If you build a ramp as well, make sure it is not too high, and the slope is not too steep.
