Game description
The water relay race with towels is a very entertaining diversion that is suitable for small as well as for larger groups between 3 and 100 years of age. Depending on the number of participants all kids team up into groups of at least 2 people. Each team gets a designated track. At the end of each track is a bucket. Now the first player of each team starts and dips his towel into the water. You can use the ocean, a creek, a lake or your pool. If that all is not available, a bucket of water will do. Now, with the water drenched towel the participant runs down the track and wrings the water of his towel into a bucket. As soon as he is finished, he runs back to his team and passes the towel on to the next player. The team, whose bucket is filled up to a pre-determined level wins and receives a little reward.
Option
Alternatively, the towel has to be transported between the legs. That is absolutely fun enhancing. Another alternative: instead of carrying the towel with the hands the participants have to wrap it around their shoulders. On hot days, it provides additional cooling and is readily accepted.
Judging
The fastest team wins.
