Size of group: | from 6-8 teammates ideal |
Time for preparation: | none |
Material: | Maybe a ball |
Game description
Before the game begins chairs have to be placed in the room – one less as there are children. Then they decide on who will be the ant. Everybody sits down, but change their seats after the start signal. The ant tries to find an empty seat while fluttering with its hands saying: “Ant is looking for a chair; the ant is looking for a chair.” Needless to say, the other kids are trying to snatch the empty chair from the ant. That might sound difficult but at the end, the ant will get a chair.
Option
Because the ant must move more slowly than the other participants, you can increase the level of difficulty by having the ant holding a ball between his knees, which he is not allowed to drop.
Judging
If you play that game several times, the winner is the ant which could get an empty chair the fastest.
